Welcome,
However you found your way here, I’m glad you're here.
Life can be challenging, and at times it can feel overwhelming to know where to turn. I work with children, teens, young adults, and their families to create a space where they feel safe, supported, and understood. Together, we explore challenges, build on strengths, develop coping skills, and work toward greater confidence and resilience.
I believe therapy should feel collaborative and tailored to each person’s unique needs. Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, my goal is to provide a warm and supportive environment where growth and healing can take place.
Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, but you don't have to navigate it alone. I'm here to help guide you through the next steps.
Hi! I'm Lauren, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I work with children, teens, and young adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, trauma, relationship challenges, and the many experiences that come with growing up.
For the past six years, I have had the privilege of supporting young people and their families through difficult seasons of life. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, supported, and free to be themselves while building coping skills, increasing self-awareness, and drawing on their strengths.
I take a warm, collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach to therapy. I work alongside clients to better understand their experiences, navigate challenges, and develop practical tools for managing emotions and stress. Drawing from attachment-based, play-based, person-centered, and somatic approaches, I tailor treatment to each client's unique needs.
With younger children, I incorporate play, games, and creative activities to encourage emotional expression, self-awareness, and skill development. With teens and young adults, sessions often feel more conversational, providing a supportive space to explore challenges, gain insight, and work toward meaningful growth.
I have additional training in EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which I integrate when appropriate to support clients experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, low self-esteem, and other challenges.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Westmont College and my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Santa Barbara.
I believe growth happens through connection, curiosity, and trust. Whether your child is struggling, your teen feels stuck, or you're a young adult navigating a difficult season of life, my goal is to provide a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to move forward with greater confidence and resilience.
Outside of the office, you'll often find me in or near the ocean—sailing, swimming, free-diving, playing mermaid, or enjoying the outdoors.
I would be honored to support you and your family.
Lauren Furr
